About this opportunity
The UCC Pathology Graduate Entry to Medicine Medal is presented annually to the outstanding student who achieves the highest aggregate mark based on examinations held in years 1 and 2 in the Department of Pathology at University College Cork. The medal is awarded to the Graduate Entry to Medicine student obtaining the highest marks at first attempt based on performance in the current GM1001, GM1002, GM1003 and GM2001 modules.
One medal is offered annually upon completion of the second year of study. Students eligible to receive these awards must be registered second year medical students who have successfully taken the examinations in each relevant module at first attempt. The successful candidate must have completed two years and the requirements set down by the University, and the standard must be sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the Academic Council.
Funding for the award comes from the Department of Pathology at UCC. This is a merit-based recognition award for academic excellence in pathology studies within the Graduate Entry to Medicine program.
