About This Opportunity

Northumbria University offers The Vaughan Oliver Graphic Design Scholarships in association with 4AD to support undergraduate students pursuing BA (Hons) Graphic Design. This scholarship commemorates Vaughan Oliver (1957-2019), a visionary graphic designer from County Durham who became one of the most influential practitioners of his generation. The scholarships are awarded to two students annually, providing £2,500 during the first year of their undergraduate degree only. The money can be used to enhance the overall university learning experience. Priority is given to students from underrepresented backgrounds, including those from areas with low progression rates to Higher Education (particularly the North East), students from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, or students who have declared a physical and/or mental health condition, long-term illness, or learning difference. Recipients must be UK/Home applicants enrolled full-time at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus starting in September 2026.
