About this opportunity
The Walter and Eliza Hall Trust Opportunity Scholarship in Education is valued at up to $30,000 and is designed to assist undergraduate education students who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship supports Australian citizens enrolled in Commonwealth Supported Places in education programs with a particular interest in special needs education. The scholarship provides $10,000 per year and is tenable for the duration of the degree up to three years. Walter and Eliza Hall were active philanthropists, and following Walter's death, Eliza established the Walter and Eliza Hall Trust in 1912 as a charitable trust to assist those in need. Since that time, the trust has helped thousands of Australians reach their full potential. Recipients must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65 each semester and provide yearly progress reports. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, financial disadvantage, and a personal statement.
