About This Opportunity

The Waverley College Teacher Education Scholarship offers students a unique opportunity to work at a leading Independent School within the Greater Sydney area. This undergraduate scholarship is designed for final-year Bachelor of Education (Secondary Education) students who are studying in high-demand subject areas including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology. The scholarship provides financial support valued at $12,000 per annum for one year and requires recipients to complete a structured teaching experience at Waverley College. Participants must spend one day per week at the school during Terms 1, 2, and 3, and undertake an unpaid internship during Term 4. Recipients will receive guidance from a mentor teacher and participate in academic, pastoral, and co-curricular activities. This scholarship is funded by Waverley College and administered by the University of Sydney. Students must have a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 75 across the past two years of study and hold a valid Working with Children Check. The selection process includes academic merit assessment, a personal statement, academic referee reports, a Professional Experience report, and an interview for shortlisted applicants.
