About this opportunity
The Winifred Margaret Neirous Memorial Scholarship was established in 1991 to encourage and assist female students studying structural engineering in the School of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney. This scholarship is funded by a donation from Maurice A. Neirous.
The scholarship is valued at $6,000 per annum and is tenable for up to four years, providing a total of up to $24,000 in support. Recipients must be female students enrolling into or currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Civil Engineering) degree with a specialization in Structures. The scholarship is designed to support students who demonstrate financial need, diligence, and good conduct.
Selection is based on academic merit (HSC performance or weighted average mark for current students), demonstrated financial need through supporting documentation and a personal statement, and a personal reference confirming diligence and good conduct. Shortlisted applicants are required to attend an interview with the selection committee. Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment in the eligible degree with a Structures specialization and achieve a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship.
