About This Opportunity

The Women's College Dr Maureen Aitken Undergraduate Residential Scholarship is part of the UQ Residential Scholarships Scheme and provides financial support to domestic undergraduate students experiencing financial hardship. Established in 2021 by The Women's College in partnership with Alumni Friends under the Create Change Scholarship Match Initiative, the scholarship helps students with the cost of residential fees at The Women's College. The scholarship is maintained by income generated from an underlying endowment fund. The scholarship awards $4,500 (subject to annual distribution from the relevant fund and may vary) towards accommodation fees for one year. Recipients must be domestic students enrolled full-time in an approved program at the University of Queensland and must be residents at The Women's College. Students cannot already hold another bursary or scholarship from The Women's College. Selection is based on demonstrated financial hardship supported by documentary evidence, strength of interest in community service, and demonstrated leadership qualities. Applicants need only submit one application to be considered for all scholarships in the UQ Residential Scholarship scheme, the Aspire Scholarship scheme, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme.
