The Working Artist Grant / Art Purchase Award

The Working Artist Grant/Art Purchase Award is a one-time art award intended to provide small but vitalizing bursts of funding to support an artist's ongoing art making process. The award is valued at $1,000 and is available to all artists worldwide working in all traditional and new visual arts mediums, including conceptual, installation, drawing, painting, prints, sculpture, glass, mixed media, new media, photography and video. Music, performance, and dance submissions are not accepted. If selected as the winner, the award recipient is asked to exchange one of their original works or smaller series of original works for inclusion in the organization's collection, in return for the award. The work should be considered by the artist as of equal value and available for acquisition, which can be negotiated upon receipt of the award. The organization covers the artist's shipping costs. The submission process is designed to be simple: artists submit their website or 5 images (each under 1 MB), along with their name and contact information. No written proposals or CVs are required unless the artist wishes to include them, and there is no application form. There is a submission review fee of $25.00 which helps offset the costs of funding meaningful work by serious artists. Participants agree by completing their submission to limited use of their images or other representation of their artwork and general information to be featured on the organization's site and corresponding promotional media, though all rights are retained by the artists. The organization notifies all participants of results, usually around 45 days after the deadline. Submissions for the next deadline should be submitted by midnight of March 31, 2026.
