About this opportunity
The Yakai Bursary is a financial assistance payment which seeks to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students in any program of study at the University of Adelaide. Yakai means 'help' in Kaurna. Up to $5,000 can be awarded, judged on a case-by-case basis. Applications are assessed on the basis of financial need and intended use of scholarship funds. Eligible applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be enrolled on a full-time basis at the University of Adelaide. The bursary runs for one semester and provides financial support to help students with their study-related costs. Students receiving the Indigenous Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship (ICECS) are not eligible for this bursary.
