About This Opportunity

The National Scholarship is designed as the 'Pell Grant' for highly motivated first generation immigrant students (Dreamers) who are eligible to receive in-state tuition in their home state but still have significant, unmet financial need. This scholarship is available to undocumented students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the United States before November 1, 2020, and before the age of 16. The program supports students pursuing associate or bachelor's degrees at partner colleges across the United States. The National Scholarship Award helps cover tuition and fees at one of TheDream.US Partner Colleges up to a maximum of $33,000 for a bachelor's degree. Scholars also receive an additional stipend for books, supplies, and transportation up to a maximum of $6,000. The scholarship emphasizes not only academic achievement but also dedication to community service and commitment to academic and career success despite the barriers and challenges that Dreamer students face daily. The award follows students through the completion of a bachelor's degree and is renewable each year, provided recipients meet the continuing eligibility criteria and renew the award in June. Students must be eligible for in-state tuition at the Partner College they want to attend (not applicable if attending a private Partner College, an online Partner College, or if living in Texas). Applicants must have graduated or will graduate from a United States high school with a GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale, and must have significant unmet financial need (students receiving or eligible for the Federal Pell Grant are not eligible).
