The Theodore Saloutos Award for PhD Dissertation Research in American History is given to a graduate student in the Department of History who is in dissertator status and whose dissertation topic is in American History, American immigration or American agricultural history. This award recognizes outstanding graduate students conducting dissertation research in these specialized areas of American history. Awards are announced in spring for the following school year, providing financial support to help students complete their doctoral research. Students graduating in the same spring or summer when awards are announced are not eligible to apply.
