Third Country Programme Central America

DAAD - Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst Original Source

About This Opportunity

The DAAD Third Country Programme Central America aims at fostering strong, internationally oriented higher education systems in Latin America with the capacity to contribute to sustainable development. The programme grants scholarships for development-related Master or doctoral studies for individuals who plan to pursue a career in teaching and/or research at a higher education institution in Latin America. As part of the In-Region Scholarship Programme, it supports PhD and Master studies in another Central American country for graduates from Central America and the Dominican Republic. The programme is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and designed primarily for university staff, whilst also catering to the public sector demand of academically trained personnel. By training future academic and professional leaders, the programme contributes to qualified professionals' involvement in solving development-related problems, strengthening education and research in Latin America, and structural strengthening of partner institutions. The programme particularly encourages participation of women and underprivileged groups.
