About this opportunity
The Thomas A. Scahill Scholarship honors Thomas Scahill, who was the first member of his family to attend university. Originally studying Dentistry in Australia, he furthered his experience in the United Kingdom and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons. He was passionate about education and the opportunities it afforded, believing strongly that if you do something, you should do it well. This scholarship is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at Charles Sturt University in any area of study at the undergraduate level. The scholarship has a total value of $5,000 paid in two instalments of $2,500 over one year. Preference is given to students experiencing genuine financial hardship. Continuing students must maintain a GPA of 4.0 or above, while commencing students must have an ATAR score of 65 or above. The second instalment is pending ongoing enrolment and satisfactory academic performance.
