Thomas C. Labenski Scholarship Fund

The Thomas C. Labenski Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 by Dr. Leonard Yee and Dr. Martha L. Cortes to honor the legacy of Tom Labenski and his exemplary character during his dental training. This scholarship is awarded to third-year dental students at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine who demonstrate exceptional character and academic standing. The scholarship seeks students who embody the characteristics demonstrated by Tom Labenski during his dental training in Buffalo, including a desire to learn the maximum without compromising quality patient care or interactions with classmates, concern for classmates, conscientious participation in class-sponsored activities, and amiability and consideration for classmates, patients, faculty, and staff. Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and must submit a one-page essay attesting to how they exemplify these scholarship attributes.
