About this opportunity
The Thomas H. Convery '78 Scholarship for History and Education is awarded to students entering their Junior or Senior year at Westfield State University who plan on teaching History. The scholarship seeks to support aspiring History teachers who demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching from a multicultural perspective that highlights the experiences of minority and oppressed groups. The founder hopes recipients will teach about important historical events including the forgotten plight of American Indians, the Greenwood Massacre, The Holocaust, the Internment of Japanese Americans, and the Civil Rights movement, among other significant times in History. Recipients must be enrolled full-time as a History major with plans to become a History teacher and maintain at least a 2.8 GPA. This scholarship may only be received once.
