About this opportunity
The Thomas W Lawlor QC Memorial Award in Law is an annual scholarship awarded to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering any year in the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta. The award prioritizes students whose permanent residence is in Northern Alberta in the Peace River District, including the Grande Prairie area. Recipients are selected based on academic standing, and financial need may also be taken into consideration. The award was established through endowed funds by Enid Lawlor in memory of her father, Thomas Lawlor, who was a pioneer lawyer who practiced in the Peace River/Grande Prairie area. If there are no suitable candidates meeting the geographic criteria, another student entering any year in the Faculty of Law may be considered. Students are automatically considered for this award based on their completed General Application.
