Thonock Aspiration Fund for Schools (TAFS)

The Thonock Aspiration Fund for Schools (TAFS) supports the wellbeing, aspirations, and opportunities of children attending school settings in Gainsborough and the surrounding area. Funded by the Thonock Trust, this grant program provides financial assistance to help children participate in extracurricular activities through fun, inspiring, and inclusive programs. Grants are available for whole school or class-based projects such as outings, experiences, and group activities, as well as school groups or clubs needing equipment, kits, or transport costs. The fund has approximately £7,000 available per year, with a maximum grant of £300 per project. Projects must directly benefit children in school settings. Applications are reviewed monthly on a rolling basis, with urgent requests potentially being fast-tracked. Payments are usually made in advance, and funds must be spent within 12 months of receipt. A brief report explaining how the funds benefited the children is required after project completion.
