Thornton Memorial Dairy Bursary

The Thornton Memorial Dairy Bursary was established from a donation in 1931 from the New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers' Association in memory of Mr A. A. Thornton, who was instrumental in improving the quality of dairy factories. This undergraduate bursary supports students from a dairy farming background who intend to pursue a career within the dairy industry. The bursary is awarded to students enrolled in the second or third year of a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, Bachelor of Animal Science, or Bachelor of Agribusiness. The award provides approximately $4,000 for one year of full-time study to support students with high academic achievement and a connection to the dairy industry.
