About This Opportunity

The Tikkun Olam Award is an annual scholarship valued at $2,000 provided to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in any year of any program at the University of Waterloo. The award recognizes students who demonstrate both academic achievement (minimum 70% cumulative average) and significant contributions to Jewish culture and community through extracurricular or volunteer activities on campus and/or in other communities. Students must submit an essay or statement of 250-1,000 words describing these contributions as part of their application. This award has been established by Maryam Latifpoor-Keparoutis, along with family and friends, to inspire, encourage and support students at the University of Waterloo. Students are eligible to receive this award multiple times, and selections are normally made each Fall term.
