Vestland fylkeskommune offers funding to support immigrant integration into the workforce and entrepreneurship. The grant program combines two previous schemes into one: support for mentor-trainee programs and entrepreneurship training for immigrants. The program has two main objectives: improving the inclusion of educated and highly qualified immigrants in the labor market through mentor-trainee relationships, and strengthening immigrants' knowledge about establishing their own businesses to create employment and growth. Organizations can receive support for establishing and implementing mentor-trainee programs that strengthen diversity in companies, including activities, measures, and necessary administration. Entrepreneurship training can include education, courses, and network building to help immigrants develop sustainable business models and gain knowledge of relevant legislation, financial management, and systems. Projects must meet at least one of the stated objectives to receive funding. Applicants must be region-wide or cover large parts of the county, and collaboration across sectors is valued positively. Recipients must contribute their own budget resources equal to at least the requested amount, which can be in the form of staff resources, facilities, or other operating costs.
