Tilskot til nærings- og miljøtiltak i skogbruket (NMSK)

The NMSK grant scheme aims to stimulate increased value creation in forestry while safeguarding and further developing environmental values related to biodiversity, landscape, outdoor recreation, and cultural heritage in forests. Forest owners can apply for grants for five types of measures: outdoor recreation initiatives, preservation and visualization of cultural heritage sites, conservation and maintenance measures in key biotopes, removal of naturally propagated plants of foreign tree species outside production stands, and measures that preserve key biotopes on a larger scale than expected from the industry. The scheme is limited to areas where forestry is practiced and excludes protected areas and areas designated for purposes other than agriculture through municipal plans or regulations. Applications are processed by the municipality according to NMSK regulations and must be submitted digitally through the forest owner's forest fund account in 'Skogfond på nett' with Altinn login. Only landowners and forest owners are eligible to apply.
