This is a Norwegian government grant program that provides financial support for home renovations as an alternative to installing ramps and elevators for individuals with reduced mobility. The grant enables recipients to create permanently accessible housing by converting their homes to have all necessary rooms on one floor and establishing step-free entrances. This provides a more permanent and practical solution than installing assistive devices like stair lifts, platform lifts, or ramps. The program is administered by NAV (the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) and is available to members of the national insurance scheme who have reduced walking function lasting more than two years. The grant amount corresponds to what the assistive device would have cost if installed, with specific maximum amounts for different types of solutions. The funding can be combined with other financing sources such as Husbanken or municipal support as part of a comprehensive financing plan.
