About this opportunity

This grant program supports state-secured outdoor recreation areas that are important for the general public. The funding is administered through Vestland County Municipality and covers costs related to acquiring land or establishing permanent usage rights for outdoor recreation areas. The program covers up to 50% of securing costs for local areas primarily used by municipal residents, and up to 100% of securing costs for regional areas where more than half of users come from other municipalities. Additionally, up to 50% of costs for basic restoration work can be covered. Eligible expenses include land purchase costs, servitude agreements, securing costs such as mapping and surveying, registration fees, document fees, legal assistance, and basic restoration work to make areas accessible to the public including access roads, information boards, parking, simple toilets, removal of buildings, and safety measures. Applications are processed by Vestland County Municipality and forwarded to the Norwegian Environment Agency (Miljødirektoratet) for final decision.
