Vestland fylkeskommune provides annual grants to municipalities in Vestland county for the development or revision of municipal traffic safety plans. The grant program aims to strengthen targeted traffic safety work in municipalities. Municipalities can apply for grants of up to 150,000 NOK to support the preparation or revision of municipal traffic safety plans, with a requirement for a minimum 50 percent co-financing from the municipality. The funds can be used for investigations, partial reports, and similar work necessary to ensure a good professional foundation for the plan. The program encourages municipal ownership of the planning process, broad participation, and strong political and administrative anchoring within the municipality.
