About this opportunity

This grant program supports cultural festivals in Buskerud, Norway, aiming to contribute to a diversity of high-quality cultural festivals in the region. The funding helps make high-quality art and culture accessible to Buskerud's residents and stimulates development, sustainability, and competence in the county's festival sector. The scheme provides grants to festivals that have arts and culture as their main purpose, are open to the general public rather than specific groups, must be held annually, last at least two days, and include multiple different events each day. Festivals receiving grants must have regional impact and/or regional value, meaning they must cover larger parts of the county and/or have a function of significant regional value and interest, for example through a unique thematic focus or genre position. One-year grants or multi-year commitments for up to three years are awarded. Three-year commitments are given to large and significant festivals. Organizers of annual festivals in Buskerud can apply, with various organizational forms accepted, but must have an organization number and have residence in or close connection to the county. Festivals receiving multi-year commitments must have existed for at least three years and have a board and bylaws.
