This grant program is designed to increase participation in health-promoting, community-building, and environmentally friendly outdoor recreation activities for all population groups, with emphasis on specifically prioritized groups. The program supports organized outdoor activities including organized trips, outdoor camps, practical courses, and training in outdoor recreation. It also supports activities that directly stimulate outdoor participation such as hiking competitions that motivate people to hike independently. Additionally, the program funds information initiatives about rights and obligations under the Right to Roam (allemannsretten), and initiatives that motivate people to participate in outdoor recreation. A smaller portion of the grant may be used to purchase equipment and materials that contribute to promoting outdoor activities, such as fishing rods, compasses, and a limited number of tents. The primary activities of applicants must be located in Nordland, and the funded activities must be carried out in Nordland county.
