About this opportunity
The City of Oslo Department for Social Services has allocated a total of 546,000 Norwegian kroner to support city districts (bydeler) that wish to organize a Frivilligbørs (Volunteer Exchange) in 2025 and 2026. This funding is issued as a measure to follow up on Oslo Municipality's volunteer policy.
Frivilligbørs is a form of innovative meeting place where voluntary actors, public services, and local businesses meet to enter into collaboration agreements. At Frivilligbørs, there is no exchange of money, but rather resources across sectors. City districts can apply for one event to be held in 2025 and 2026, where local volunteerism and business are included in the implementation. The event must follow the four rules of the game for Frivilligbørs, as described in the handbook.
In 2022, the Cultural Agency piloted a Frivilligbørs in Oslo, in collaboration with the city districts of Gamle Oslo and Sagene. Based on experiences from the pilot, Bydel Gamle Oslo developed a handbook for how Frivilligbørs can be implemented. The handbook is openly available on Oslo Municipality's website. City district employees can apply for funds for organizing the event and to cover costs associated with printed materials and equipment.
