About this opportunity

This grant program supports integration work carried out by voluntary organizations in Arendal municipality. The funding is administered by Arendal kommune on behalf of the Norwegian Directorate of Integration and Diversity (IMDi). The main objective is to promote participation and integration in society and working life among persons with immigrant backgrounds in Norway. The program has four specific sub-goals: increasing participation of persons with immigrant backgrounds in various societal arenas and voluntary organizational life; improving knowledge about Norwegian society, Norwegian language skills, and digital skills while strengthening qualifications for work or education; preventing racism, discrimination, negative social control, honor-related violence, female genital mutilation, and forced marriage while promoting gender equality; and increasing knowledge about participation and integration in the population while strengthening competence and capacity in voluntary immigrant organizations and collaboration between organizations and public authorities. Organizations registered in the Voluntary Register can apply for both operational support (to cover fixed operating costs such as rent, electricity, and administration) and project/activity support (for time-limited activities or projects that promote participation and integration). The funding covers activities, events, cultural arrangements, dialogue meetings, or sports events that address one or more of the four sub-goals.
