This grant program provides funding for the restoration and maintenance of protected buildings in private ownership dating from before 1537 in Trøndelag, Norway. These buildings are among the world's oldest wooden structures and are automatically protected. The program places particular emphasis on preserving and using original materials from these medieval buildings, maintaining traditional building craftsmanship, and ensuring that restoration work develops artisan competence. Private owners of protected buildings from before 1537 can receive funding, and in special cases, other owners may also be eligible. The grant supports restoration and major maintenance work that contributes to maintaining normal maintenance levels while preserving the historical source value of buildings, as well as initiatives contributing to documentation, knowledge development, and research on medieval buildings. Applications are submitted digitally through the national heritage portal.
