About this opportunity

This grant program supports the conservation of ruins and structures from the medieval period (before 1537) in Rogaland, Norway. The program aims to ensure preservation, restoration, and conservation of medieval ruins while securing source materials and contributing to sustainable use and communication of the history these cultural monuments represent. Funding can be used for conservation, documentation, maintenance, care, or monitoring of medieval ruins, as well as initiatives that develop and communicate knowledge about the ruins. The program prioritizes ensuring ruins are in a condition where ordinary maintenance is sufficient, that updated plans and agreements for care and maintenance exist, that current documentation is available, that ruins are accessible to visitors with updated information, and that relevant and current expertise on conservation and masonry care exists in the region. Priority is given to projects already underway and initiatives that help maintain competence in conservation and masonry care.
