About this opportunity
The grant program provides funding for suitable premises, buildings, and outdoor arenas that facilitate various cultural activities in Oslo. Funding is available for cultural houses, multi-purpose spaces, or specialized spaces for arts and culture, including libraries, museum buildings, performing arts venues, concert halls, visual arts exhibition spaces, or general cultural spaces for local communities. The funds can be used for permanent investments in the form of new construction, reconstruction, and modernization of cultural venues or outdoor areas, as well as measures for universal design, but not for maintenance or operations. Cultural houses and venues must be cultural meeting places for all of Oslo, or for everyone in a local community. Cultural houses and arenas must be planned based on defined needs and in collaboration with relevant user groups. Spaces should function as cultural meeting places for multiple groups to the greatest extent possible and should be open to all lawful cultural activities. No one should be excluded for religious, social, or political reasons. Spaces for rehearsal and production are treated equally with halls for presentation.
