About this opportunity

Riksantikvaren invites municipalities to apply for grants to develop cultural environment plans. The goal of this initiative is to strengthen competence and improve oversight of cultural heritage environments worthy of preservation. The funds are intended to increase municipal expertise and promote collaboration in safeguarding cultural heritage as part of local and regional emergency preparedness work. In 2026, priority is given to cultural environment plans planned for completion during 2026, plans integrated into municipal land use or social plans, implementation of risk and vulnerability analyses of cultural environments, and safeguarding cultural heritage in emergency preparedness and comprehensive risk assessments. The cultural environment plan should contain an overview of prioritized cultural environments that the municipality considers worthy of preservation and that should be preserved and managed properly. It is important that the municipality develops a good action plan for the cultural environment plan with priorities and that the work is viewed in connection with local and regional development work.
