This grant program was introduced in 2025 as a merger of two previous programs: 'Regional Development Grant for Arts and Culture' and 'Grant for Professional Arts and Culture.' The purpose of the program is to promote high-quality arts and culture that reaches a broad audience, and to support the development of the professional and independent arts and culture sector in Akershus. The program aims to stimulate activity within the cultural industry and the cultural sector generally, strengthening collaboration and networks that benefit multiple parties. It supports projects within visual arts, music, performing arts, literature, film, and games. Organizations receiving operational support from Akershus County can apply for projects outside their regular operations. The program has two main focus areas: (A) development and presentation of professional arts and culture to audiences, such as festivals, exhibitions, concerts, and performances, and (B) larger collaborative projects within arts, culture, and cultural industries that benefit multiple actors and contribute to long-term development through collaboration and networking.
