This grant program aims to preserve protected cultural monuments and heritage sites in private ownership and to ensure they are restored according to antiquarian guidelines. The original purpose of the grant scheme was to ease the burden on private individuals who have responsibility for maintaining and restoring protected cultural monuments and heritage environments that are a common good for society. The program provides funding to cover additional costs, in whole or in part, that follow from requirements for antiquarian execution during securing, restoration, maintenance and care of cultural monuments. As a general rule, the grant should not exceed 50% of the total cost of a measure. The program prioritizes the use of traditional materials, techniques and craftsmanship, and training for knowledge building.
