Troms fylkeskommune offers project grants for Sami language and culture in Troms as a follow-up to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission report. The purpose of the grant scheme is to strengthen, develop and make visible Sami language and culture in Troms. The program specifically aims to strengthen knowledge and dissemination about Sami matters, particularly among children and youth; strengthen and make visible the Sami language; and promote Sami artistic and cultural initiatives, especially for children and youth. The grants support institutions, organizations, clubs/associations, individual groups and private persons. Priority is given to applications that emphasize Sami language and projects for children and youth, new projects/initiatives, and projects with regional significance.
