Tilskudd til sikring av reindriftens arealer

This grant program provides funding to reindeer herding districts (reinbeitedistrikter) in Norway for measures related to securing reindeer pasture areas. The grant is administered through the Reindeer Husbandry Development Fund (Reindriftens Utviklingsfond - RUF) and is primarily intended for major initiatives related to land use interventions. Eligible activities include preparation of consultation statements in connection with land interventions, measures that reindeer herding needs to have mapped and which fall outside consequence assessments under the Planning and Building Act, and preparation of priority maps (value classification of land use maps). The grant is not provided for measures covered by the obligation to conduct consequence assessments under the Planning and Building Act, as the project owner must bear those costs. Applications are processed administratively by the Norwegian Agriculture Agency (Landbruksdirektoratet) for amounts up to 200,000 NOK, while applications exceeding this amount must be submitted to the RUF board for decision.
