About this opportunity

This grant program supports the restoration and maintenance of technical and industrial cultural heritage sites in Telemark, Norway. The program aims to contribute to knowledge, experiences, use, and value creation related to industrial cultural heritage. Eligible projects include securing, restoration, maintenance, cultural heritage documentation, feasibility studies, and salaries for positions directly related to management, operation, and maintenance. Technical and industrial cultural heritage includes traces of industrial culture of historical, technological, social, architectural, or scientific value, such as transportation infrastructure, industrial facilities with buildings and production lines with machinery, as well as the social aspects of industrial history including housing, religious buildings, schools, and recreational areas. The grant is intended as co-financing and not to cover total costs. Applications with a degree of self-contribution are prioritized. Grants can cover 10-15% for project management and follow-up. The program prioritizes the Rjukan Railway, a protected UNESCO World Heritage site.
