About this opportunity

This grant scheme aims to support measures that promote wildlife-friendly human traffic in wild reindeer habitats to reduce disturbances in wild reindeer living areas. The program is directed toward voluntary associations, owners/operators of private tourist cabins, and road owners/rights holders. Applications should primarily be described as measures in action plans according to the quality standard for wild reindeer. The scheme can provide funding for various activities including dismantling and remediation of tourist cabins, relocation of tourist cabins, economic losses from reduced operations, removal and rerouting of trails, closure of roads and parking areas, and information measures. Applicants may include associations affiliated with the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) and other voluntary associations with similar purposes, as well as owners or operators of private tourist cabins, road owners or rights holders, and road associations. Projects should demonstrate positive environmental impact for wild reindeer and align with adopted action plans for wild reindeer areas.
