About this opportunity

This grant scheme aims to promote outdoor recreation activities in state-secured outdoor recreation areas and areas protected as outdoor recreation areas under the Mark Act. Through environmentally friendly facilitation and management, these areas should be made easily accessible and attractive for general outdoor recreation. The funding supports development, facilitation and management of state-secured outdoor recreation areas with three main objectives: to reduce physical barriers to outdoor recreation and facilitate increased outdoor activities; to preserve qualities related to experiences in the area and facilitate good nature experiences; and to prevent outdoor recreation from leading to unnecessary environmental impacts, wear and disturbance to plant and animal life and destruction of cultural monuments and cultural environments. The scheme prioritizes areas near cities or densely populated areas, heavily used or potentially heavily used areas, areas with limited accessible coastline under high pressure, and areas near inland waterways. Projects with co-financing or volunteer work contributions are prioritized.
