About this opportunity

This grant program supports preservation and maintenance of UNESCO World Heritage sites in Trøndelag, specifically Røros Bergstad and Circumferensen. The program aims to fulfill Norway's obligations under UNESCO's World Heritage Convention from 1972 and ensure that World Heritage areas develop as beacons of best practice in natural and cultural heritage management. Funding is provided for security measures, restoration, maintenance, monitoring, and other necessary measures for cultural monuments, cultural environments, and landscapes in World Heritage areas. The program prioritizes projects that preserve universal values defined in the inscription document, promote traditional craftsmanship skills, support sustainable tourism and business activities, stimulate local engagement, advance research and new knowledge, and address risk management including fire safety and preparedness against climate and environmental impacts.
