About this opportunity

The Telemark County Municipality offers grants for projects and initiatives within the Rjukan-Notodden UNESCO World Heritage area with buffer zone. The funding scheme aims to fulfill Norway's obligations under UNESCO's World Heritage Convention of 1972 and contribute to developing World Heritage areas as beacons of best practice in natural and cultural heritage management. Grants support maintenance and restoration of heritage-worthy buildings and facilities, cultural landscape management, signage, dissemination, courses and research, fire protection of heritage buildings, and financing of World Heritage coordinators. Priority is given to projects that preserve outstanding universal values, strengthen heritage management, stimulate local engagement, promote heritage values, advance traditional craft techniques, support sustainable tourism, contribute to research, and address risk management including fire safety and climate resilience.
