Tilskudd til verneverdige bygninger og anlegg i Østfold

This grant program supports the preservation and conservation of heritage-worthy buildings and sites in Østfold, Norway. The purpose is to maintain and continue Østfold's many important, valuable and heritage-worthy buildings, while stimulating increased competence in heritage buildings and antiquarian principles. Owners of heritage-worthy buildings and sites can apply for grants for preservation, restoration, refurbishment and restoration to previous appearance. The program receives many applications and has limited funds available, with typical grants ranging between NOK 20,000-60,000. Supported activities include preservation of heritage buildings and sites (including gardens and courtyards), investigations (such as color studies, dendrochronological dating, building archaeological surveys), restoration to earlier appearance based on documented evidence, and energy efficiency measures that do not constitute disfiguring or major interventions. Interior restoration/refurbishment may be supported if it benefits the public. The program prioritizes projects of regional value and those that can contribute to value creation or industry, involve local craftsmen, use local materials, and increase competence in heritage building preservation.
