Bergen kommune provides financial support for vacation/holiday expenses for adults with significant care needs resulting from congenital disabilities or early acquired injuries (before age 18). The grant supports persons who cannot travel without an escort and cannot use the municipality's organized vacation services for persons with developmental disabilities. The program allows family members, guardians, or proxies to apply on behalf of eligible persons. The amount of support depends on the duration of travel and number of escorts needed. All trips must be completed by December 31st of the current year, and recipients are required to report on the use of funds afterwards. This is a voluntary municipal service that Bergen kommune offers to ensure persons with developmental disabilities and significant support needs have opportunities for vacation experiences.
