T.J.A. Ballinger Scholarships

The T.J.A. Ballinger Scholarships were created by Mr T.J.A. Ballinger and Mrs E.B. Ballinger to provide financial assistance to students pursuing Science, Mathematics, and/or Engineering degrees at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. These scholarships are specifically aimed at students who are currently in their second year of study and are awarded primarily on the basis of academic merit, although factors such as character, leadership, community involvement and financial circumstances may also be taken into account. The scholarship may be held by each student for up to three years providing an average A- (a 7.0 GPA) or above is maintained. The general intention is that in any year a second-year student, a third-year student and a fourth-year student will hold this scholarship. Recipients are required to maintain full-time enrollment and act as ambassadors for the university, participating in appropriate events or marketing activities when requested.
