About This Opportunity

Travel Grants are available to help with the costs of travel for research in a health-related field. This may include travel to scientific meetings, visits to research centres or travel for training or short-term work in laboratories. The Maurice and Phyllis Paykel Trust provides these grants to New Zealand citizen/permanent residents who are qualified research workers in health science fields in New Zealand. Travel Grants currently have an upper limit of $3,000 NZD, although the majority of awards are grants-in-aid. Applications are considered three times a year by the Trust Board. Graduate students are not eligible to apply, though PhD students in their final year at Auckland and Otago Universities may consult with their research office regarding travel support. If successful, there is a one-year stand-down period before the next application. Applications for travel are not accepted for travel occurring before Trust Board decision dates, meaning no retrospective funding is provided.
