About this opportunity
The TREA Student Scholarships are awarded annually to 20-30 graduating high school seniors from TREA member school districts in Texas. The program supports students who will be enrolled in a post-graduate program, attending a technical school, or enlisting in the military. In 2025, 386 completed scholarship applications were reviewed and 25 recipients were selected. The winners are celebrated at the Scholarship Banquet during the TREA Summer Conference as one of the highlights of the Conference. The scholarship amount for 2026 is $2,500 per recipient. TREA offers seven specially designated honorary and memorial scholarships within the program, including the Sue Adams Memorial Scholarship for students entering education, the Scott Ferguson Memorial Scholarship for students entering education or public service, and others honoring Eddie Johnson, Phil Gerik, Dr. Don Rogers, Dr. Max Thompson, and Jerry Nell Stout. Recipients must attend the Scholarship Banquet to receive their award, provide a 60-second introduction video, submit a high-resolution headshot, and provide college enrollment or military enlistment verification. The scholarship check is mailed to the student to use as they see fit to help with their expenses. A school district will not be awarded more than 2 scholarships per year.
