The Harry S. Truman Scholarship is a prestigious merit-based award for college juniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership potential and a commitment to careers in public service. Established as President Truman's living memorial, the scholarship recognizes students who have made significant contributions to their communities and show exceptional promise for leadership in government or public service. The program selects approximately 54-60 scholars annually from institutions across the United States. Recipients participate in leadership development programming including Truman Scholars Leadership Week and various fellowship opportunities such as the Truman-Albright Fellows, Truman Democracy Fellows, and Truman Governance Fellows programs.
