About this opportunity
The Tsang Choi Shin Hang Memorial Bursary is awarded to a full-time student entering the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Prince Edward Island. This bursary was established by Alfred Chun Wai Tsang, an alumnus of St. Dunstan's University (1960), in loving memory of his mother, Shin Hang. Her name literally means 'genteel natural beauty' and she was the driving force that enabled Alfred to come to Canada to pursue his education. In the 1950s when Hong Kong was still considered a 'third world country,' her sacrifice in sending her son abroad to study continues to inspire many today. Because Shin Hang valued the importance of education, this bursary supports deserving students pursuing careers in education, honoring her legacy and commitment to learning.
