About this opportunity
The scholarship is to support a Ngāti Tūwharetoa postgraduate student at Victoria University of Wellington studying in any of four categories that align to the Pou identified in the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board's Mahere Rautaki 2021-2026. The four strategic areas (Pou) include: Pou Taiao (environmental protection and mātauranga Tūwharetoa), Pou Tikanga (maintenance of Tūwharetoa kawa, tikanga, and te reo Māori), Pou Tangata (educational achievement, health, wellbeing, and innovation), and Pou Tātāwhai (business management and financial sustainability). This scholarship is co-funded with Victoria University of Wellington to support Ngāti Tūwharetoa participation and success at the University. The award is valued at $5,000 and can be used for tuition fees and/or accommodation. Applicants must be studying full-time towards a postgraduate qualification in areas such as Environmental Science, Te Reo Māori, Education, Health, Engineering, Commerce, or Law, and must be registered with the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board.
