About this opportunity
The UB Undergraduate Scholarship Fund was established in 2012 by the University at Buffalo Foundation Board of Trustees. This scholarship is designed to support newly admitted freshmen majoring in fields related to the arts, humanities, or social sciences, with a preference given to students who are committed to developing a deeper appreciation of regional, national, and international issues.
This is a renewable award that provides $2,000 annually and can be maintained for up to four years, totaling $8,000 over the course of an undergraduate degree. To remain eligible for renewal, recipients must maintain full-time enrollment status by completing at least 12 credits during both the fall and spring semesters each academic year. Additionally, students must achieve and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 at the University at Buffalo.
Applicants are required to demonstrate their commitment to understanding regional, national, and international issues through a supplemental essay question that asks them to describe their past efforts in this area and explain how they plan to continue that commitment during their college career.
