About this opportunity
The UBEL Doctoral Training Partnership is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and consists of five universities in London including Birkbeck. The partnership offers ESRC studentships for doctoral research across 30 different disciplinary pathways in the social sciences. Each pathway provides a range of study routes with the option of master's level training attached if applicants do not already hold a master's qualification recognised by the ESRC. The program accommodates both full-time and part-time students and covers diverse fields including economics, psychology, law, history, politics, sociology, human geography, business management, and many others. Applications are student-led but developed jointly with supervisors, and are considered in a two-stage process: a preliminary application followed by a full application for shortlisted candidates. This ensures only the most competitive candidates need to undergo the time-consuming full application process.
